IX Nordic Student Singers’ Summit

On April 24th-27th 2014 Tartu and the Uni. of Tartu hosted the IX Nordic Student Singers’ Summit (NSSS).

The festival started with an opening on the Town Hall Square, where among others Mr Hans Lundgren, the father of NSSS, gave a very good speech. During those days 10 very good choirs' concerts were given and of course a great gala concert "Sea. Forest. City" was performed. In the evenings, the nsss-ers met at the Festival Clubs, where choirs' vocal ensembles made their performances, and TÜ VKA Keedisband and Ukrainian-Estonian Svjata Vatra made everybody dance. NSSS 2014 conductors had a workshop with very good conductors Marit Tøndel Bodsberg and Maria Goundorina. A lot of Estonian and festival choirs' choral music was exposed and sold at the Music Corner. The elusive gala dinner for the participants ended in the morning of 27 April.

NSSS team is very proud that it used as organisers mainly singers and other volunteers! NSSS 2014 is tremendously thankful for them as without those smiling and hard-working eyes NSSS 2014 could not have been done, and done in a way it ended up with.

For today, 1200 singers, 200 volunteers and some other team members have already backed their bags or playing the last chords. Yearning for those days just do not intend to leave our hearts..so with souls shivering we are so looking forward to our next meetings!

With gratitude,
NSSS 2014 team
